We are excited to announce the October 2025 release of Database Health Monitor, version 3.1193.
This update builds on the major version 3.0 milestone, delivering another round of enhancements, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements for SQL Server professionals.
Whether you’re monitoring blocking, tracking CPU usage, or reviewing backup status, this release brings even deeper insights and smoother workflows across the platform.
Highlights of Version 3.1193
New Features
QuickScan Expansion
A new QuickScan check has been added:
- #245 – TempDB Version Store currently using 80% or more of available space.
This helps identify when TempDB is at risk of running out of version store capacity, an early warning sign for performance slowdowns.
Command Line Parameters for Automated Reporting
You can now generate report summaries from the command line without launching the full Database Health Monitor interface.
This makes it easy to integrate health checks into scheduled tasks or automation pipelines.

Enhanced Report Drill-Downs
- The Blocking by Hour instance report now supports drill-down functionality, allowing you to view the specific blocking queries for any selected hour.
- The CPU by Database instance report now links directly to that database’s CPU by Query report, providing a faster way to trace high CPU usage back to individual queries.
New “Open Transactions” Report
We’ve added a new instance-level report, Open Transactions, that displays any transactions that remain open but may not be active.
This report helps identify blocking, version store growth, and potential locking problems caused by uncommitted transactions.
Index Report Enhancements
The Inefficient, Most Used, and Unused index reports now include a toggle between Real Time and Historic modes—letting you analyze current activity or long-term trends with a single click.
Backup Status Report Improvements
A new option to Hide or Show Copy Only backups has been added to the Backup Status instance report, giving you finer control over what backup types are displayed.
Bug Fixes
We’ve addressed several issues to improve stability and accuracy throughout the application:
- Fixed a bug where navigating to the Server Health tab with a server subtree open would create an “Empty” database in the navigation list.
- Fixed an issue where Heat Map reports displayed zeros for future time slots.
- Resolved a regional date conversion issue that caused incorrect time frames in the Deadlock History database report.
Continuous Improvement
The 3.1193 release continues our mission to make Database Health Monitor faster, smarter, and more capable with every update.
From deeper drill-down capabilities to automation through command line tools, this release empowers DBAs and developers to gain even more visibility into their SQL Server environments.
If you haven’t updated yet, the latest version is available now at DatabaseHealth.com.
