Enabling TDE in SQL Server

Enabling Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) on SQL Server is critical for safeguarding sensitive data by encrypting the database files at rest, ensuring that data remains secure even if physical storage is compromised. TDE provides a seamless layer of protection without requiring changes to application code, encrypting the entire database, including backups and transaction logs, to prevent unauthorized access. This is particularly vital for organizations handling sensitive information, such as financial or personal data, to comply with regulatory standards like GDPR or HIPAA. By implementing TDE, businesses can mitigate risks of data breaches, enhance trust, and maintain compliance, all while maintaining performance and operational efficiency.

Here is a short video where Derrick and Steve walk through configuring TDE on your SQL Server.
